PRIM is a point and click adventure game that is filled with different puzzles, but contains a narrative that is really fun to follow. The game introduces you to the main character; a young girl who’s father is literally the Grim Reaper. With a father like that, you would think that she is not cared for, but it’s actually the opposite.
The Grim Reaper is a helicopter parent, not allowing his daughter to play games, go out into parts of the world, and being very protective of everything she does. Recently, Death’s Daughter Prim has been having dreams that a human child has been calling out for her help, and she is determined to go and help him. Unfortunately, she has been locked into her room, high up in her house, unable to get out.
You will need to help Prim make her way out of the room, collecting objects and solving puzzles as you go. Like many games in this genre, you are able to combine items in your inventory, use them on objects in the world, and collect more to use in various ways. You can even let out some lightning bugs that will show you what points on the screen you can interact with.
PRIM is a beautiful, hand drawn game that is inspired by animated films created by Tim Burton, which is clearly shown throughout the game. This story, which is voiced by some talent voice actors, goes through the story of a teenager who wants some freedom and a father who needs to learn to let her have it. Prim doesn’t have to go through the world alone, and can take on her journey with her pet spider, switching between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
PRIM is set to release in 2023, with a free demo currently on Steam.
