Bunnies are always hopping about, never wanting to be collected and brought home, even if that’s what’s best for them! In Paquerette Down the Bunburrows, you have to collect your bunnies and bring them home, so that they can be safe!
The only issue is, they are having too much fun exploring and hopping away from you. Each time you move near a bunny, it will hop away, often hoping to the left if there is the option too. You will need to trick the bunny into going to a deadend, that way you can then pick them up and take them to the hole to the next level. If two bunnies connect with each other, they make a baby bunny that’s automatically collected, then become one bunny that you take!
After some time, you are able to use traps in Paquerette Down the Bunburrows, which really makes more of these puzzles open-ended, as you try to figure out where you need to lay the trap down. If given an option, the bunny won’t go into the cage, because of course it won’t. Luckily, you can undo moves and reset the level, if you need another go! If you really are stuck, you can always just move into the next level and go further into the different zones. Soon, you’ll even end up with a pickaxe, which allows you to dig up walls if you feel it will help.
This game is challenging, especially as you learn and try to understand where the bunny might move in any given level. Some of these bunnies seem really clever, especially as the levels have more room for you to chase them around in!
Paquerette Down the Bunburrows was originally a Ludum Dare entry, but has been polished up and continued to a full Steam Release, with no set release date. Currently, you can wishlist the game on Steam and play the free demo to get a feel of it.
